Aftercare for all procedures
All appointments are booked in two hour slots. Each procedure requires a second appointment which is booked in for 4 – 8 weeks after your first appointment.
Aftercare is discussed after the procedure and must be followed in order to achieve the desired result. Below are the aftercare instructions for each procedure.
You can go about your normal life straight after the procedure but we advise that you take care. No direct sun for the first 2 weeks and no watersports or activities that could get your treament area wet or sweaty. This is to ensure that you have the best healed results.
Please remember as discussed at your appointment that your makeup will appear very dark for a few days after you leave the salon. This is due to the area oxidising and the surface pigment drying out. Once this sheds you will see a noticable difference in colour. The area can appear up to 40% lighter than they did at day one.
This is normal and expected. Your skin has healed and closed over the pigment, making it softer. You may experience patches or uneven, lighter areas, again, this is normal.
Once healed (which takes a minimum of 4 weeks) these areas will be tweaked at the 2nd appointment.
Eyeliner Aftercare
Your eyes may be slightly swollen on finishing your appointment, this depends on how sensitive your eyes are, this will subside within a few hours.
The next day, once you have woken you may experience secondary swelling. This is normal as you have been in a horizontal position through the night. Once you start moving around this swelling will ease.
You will dry heal for the first 3 days, this means you are not to apply any products or water to the area.
On day 3 or 4 you can start to apply your ointment with a cotton bud 2 – 3 times a day. In a thin layer to help keep the area moist, this is known as wet healing.
Continue with the ointment for up to 7 days.
Avoid the sun, so wear sunglasses or a hat to reduce your exposure.
Brow Aftercare
Aftercare ointment will be applied to your brows immediately after your procedure. You will be given some to take home with you that you can apply again after a couple of days.
For the first 24hours you will need to blot your brows every 30 minutes. For the first few days you will dry heal, which means that you must refrain from applying any products to them at all.
Once you get to day 2 or 3 and they start to feel dry and tight you can apply a thin layer of ointment to them using a cotton bud. This is to happen twice a day for up to 7 days.
Do not pick, pull or rub at the area as it could course pigment to come away too soon.
Keep the area free from any water or products other than your ointment.
Avoid the sun, to reduce the risk of pigment loss. After your healing period is up, apply sunscreen to the area to reduce unnessary pigment fade.
Lip Blush Aftercare
Immediately after the treatment the lip area will appear swollen, this will go down over the next few hours.
Tightness and drying is also common. You will be given an aftercare ointment which you can apply with clean fingers or a cotton bud in a thin layer to the lip area when needed.
Be careful when brushing your teeth, eating and drinking.
After a number of days the lips will appear chapped, this will only last for a few days.
Refrain from picking them and continue with your ointment.
People who suffer from cold sores will need to get a course of Anti-Viral medication from your Pharmacy or Doctors before the treament.
Eyelash Aftercare
Compared to everything else Lash aftercare is simple and easy.
Keep your eyes dry for 24 hours after your appointment and make sure that you don’t pick your lashes off.
Contrary to peoples thoughts on lashes, once this initial dry period is over you should wash your eyes and keep your lashes clean. This will make them last longer and stop bacteria.
Avoid oil based products on your lashes as this can soften the lash adhesive.
